Temptations All-Inclusive Resort - Cancun, Mexico

Temptations All-Inclusive Resort - Cancun, Mexico

Let me begin by saying that Temptations is an adult-only (21 years of age or older) all-inclusive resort. I wouldn’t recommend it for families visiting with their adult kids, grand kids, aunts, uncles, basically anyone you wouldn’t want seeing you (possibly) topless. Now that we’ve cleared that up, let’s get to the really good stuff.

Ah, wait - happy two year anniversary, my love. Yes, my partner in crime, Pepe, and I spent three nights and four days at Temptations in Cancun at the end of May/beginning of June to celebrate our two magical years together.

The Resort

Very boutique, with a trendy feel. The lobby is grand with white and red couches, tile floors, and hanging white ceiling fixtures. A large bar is on the opposite side of the main entrance surrounded by orange inviting stools, overlooking the nightly party and entertainment area. Also in the main lobby is a gift shop where you can find outfits for theme nights (in case you forgot or were not aware of theme nights), beach wear, and much more. Down the hall from there are the spa and hair salon. Ladies - $60 (USD) for a wash and blow dry. Note -the Temptation lobby is not topless…although it is tempting to go topless there. Trust me, I asked!

The Room
Now, the room - we were on the third floor in Room 3217 of the Bash Tower. Spacious! Tons of natural light, cute sitting area next to the balcony, providing a partial view of the ocean in the near distance. We did bang our head on the low hanging light fixture above the couch, and almost slipped multiple times on the tile floors which quickly collected condensation. The bed was very comfortable, with a digital room temperature control, control for the blinds and lights all right there within reach next to the bed so you be a bit lazy and not have to get up.

We did pay a little extra for the Bash Tower room but it was worth it! The convenience of being steps from the pool, restaurants, bars, beach was well worth the small cost.

The Beach
There is a small private beach area in the back of the Temptations Resort (again, topless optional!) for those looking for some R&R on the sand by the water, but be warned - there are no waves to ride! That side of the water is used as a marina to dock boats so the water is much calmer. We were not in love with the beach there. But we did walk around a bit to feel the warm sand in between our naked toes.

The Pool(s)
With two massive pools on the resort, we feel in love with the Sexy Pool. Sixty percent (60%) of the women were topless. Sexy pool is definitely the party pool. That’s where the afternoon parties occurred, and DJ played amazing music to liven the mood. We spent most of our time hanging out at the swim-up bar inside the pool or just floating around and mingling with other guests. The other pool is called the Quiet Pool. We saw four guests hanging out there - I would call that the hangover recovery pool! Same set up as the Sexy Pool, minus the live DJ, parties, and loudness.

Day 1 - Arrival (Thursday) Tips:
After a semi-quick check-in process at Temptations, we grabbed lunch at Rain (buffet) since our room was not yet ready. Rain is enclosed in floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of the Sexy Pool and partial view of the ocean. It makes you want to quickly finish your meal and head to the pool or the beach.

Didn’t waste any time and hit the Sexy pool with our Yetis. The Yetis go with us to every beach trip. They make refills on cocktails last much longer. Invest in one, if you don’t already have one. I wore a lovely hot pink thong bikini to the pool with a sheer black cover-up for the short walk through the lobby. Pepe wore a blue speedo. Most of women were topless at the pool. Again, if that makes you uncomfortable, this is not the resort for you. A few women seemed shy at first in going topless but quickly adapted and let go. Literally. There is also a ton of swingers activity going on at the pool - which I’m sure continued on in the rooms. If that’s not your scene, no worries - everyone is still very social and did not seem to pressure anyone into “swinging.” We mingled and met great people at the pool on our first day there, some of whom we continued to hang out with throughout our stay.

For dinner, we decided to take it easy and not make reservations. Kept it simple and ate at the Rain dinner buffet before the 10pm nightly theme night entertainment.

Thursday nights are school girl and nerd night at the Bash Tower club. Go prepared! I love the outfit I found for myself and Pepe on Amazon. I paired mine with Michael Kors black heels and Pepe added his own sexy touch with a pair of glasses with the glass popped out. The entertainment show put on by the hotel crew was about 30 minutes and AMAZING! Afterwards, there was just tons and tons of dancing with a live DJ playing a mixture of music that kept our feet moving.

Day 2-4
We’re early birds regardless of how late we go to bed the previous night. The next few days were spent doing exactly what we did on Day 1 at Temptations. Swimming in the pool, mingling with amazing people, quality time together, eating, and theme parties at night. Before you go, check out the Temptations website for the theme parties taking place during your stay and go prepared with outfits. Temptations is definitely a party resort but allows guests plenty of R&R - whatever it is you are looking for on vacation, you can find it at Temptations.

Restaurants:

  • Rain and Flame: Buffet style dining. Quick and easy. No reservations required. There are two sides (Rain on one side, Flame on the other) to this restaurant with different foods on both sides. You can walk through to get to both sides regardless of where you are seated. Dress casually.

  • She: An aphrodisiac restaurant with a nightly show. It’s intimate, private dining and reservations must be made. It is somewhat overrated and does not cater to vegetarians, or anyone who does not eat seafood. The show consists of two females who perform a “strip tease” in bikinis on poles in the middle of the dining room. We had a couch seating across the stage with a great view of the entire restaurant. It’s worth the experience but nothing to be missed if you’re unable to get a booking. Dress chic!

  • Sea Flirt: Ah-mazing food!!! We had outdoor seating right by the beach where you could hear the calmness of the night and the water. Definitely a must visit. It’s perfect for a romantic dinner at night. Dress up for this restaurant, and go back to change if needed, for the theme night party.

What to Pack:
Nothing! Ok, maybe not nothing. Pack light. Very, very light.

Women:

  • Bikinis

  • Swim cover-ups

  • Short dresses for dinner (unless you are planning on going to the buffet or casual dining)

  • Theme party night outfits - check the website for themes prior to going

Men:

  • Whatever you’re comfortable swimming in - Pepe took speedos as that’s his favorite swim attire

  • Tank tops to wear in the dining rooms when grabbing lunch - it can be chilly with the AC blasting

  • Dress-up clothes for dinner (unless you are planning on going to the buffet or casual dining)

  • Theme party night outfits - check the website for themes prior to going
