Upcoming 5 days in Santa Fe, New Mexico
What an odd but picturesque place to visit in the middle of winter! A work trip is sending me to Santa Fe, NM for five days, with a jam-packed itinerary which includes nothing but meetings (and some team building) until very late into the evening. However, being the curious, adventurous self, I must venture into town on my own and find hidden gems! Even if it means heading out at 9pm when I have meetings starting again at 8am the following day. I mean, c’mon, why not? The trip is two weeks away so my research is a bit delayed. Better late than never!
I’ll be flying into Albuquerque which is about an hour away from the resort where we’re being booked. Not my ideal distance from the airport to a hotel, but it is what it is!
What to wear
Temperatures in Santa Fe, NM during February range from 20s to mid-40s during the day, and colder at night time. Thankfully, the work meetings are taking place at the resort so I can still wear my work dresses and cute pumps. However, for the evening adventures, I’ll be taking jeans, sweaters, boots, hat, gloves, and of course, a warm jacket.
Places to visit (Great suggestions on Farolito’s blog!)
Bar Alto: offers amazing views of Santa Fe, and a great place to catch the sunset. Adding that to my list for Monday evening!
The Loretto Chapel: Ah, what an amazing story behind this chapel! I wish I could visit but they close at 4:30pm. Perhaps Monday before Bar Alto?
El Mesón: Live music 5 days a week? I’m there! Tango on Tuesday nights? Oh, I’m definitely there!
The Bell Tower Bar also seems to be a great spot to catch the sunset. This bar is known for their margaritas, so penciling it in if the evening schedule allows a visit on Wednesday.
Stay tuned for an update at the end of February once I’ve had my adventures in Santa Fe, NM!
Cheers!
